Consultations are by appointment and can be made in person, over the telephone or online via the above link (after registering at reception).
We offer three types of appointment:
- Routine - Patients can see a doctor of their choice booked in advance.
- Emergency /on the day appointments Patients with genuine medical emergencies will be contacted by a GP.on the telephone. The GP will advise the paitent as to what treatment may be required, book the patient an appointment to come into the surgery that day or on another day. The doctor can only deal with a problem requiring immediate attention.
- Telephone Consultations - where there is an expectation that the patient's problem may be resolved without having to attend surgery.
- Online booking - appointments for GP's are available online. Please ask at reception for your PIN.
Winter Resilience Scheme
Ashcroft surgery is taking part in the Winter Resilience Scheme. This means that a set number of appointments are reserved for children and anyone with respiratory problems (COPD / Asthma). These appointments are in the afternoon on Thursdays until the end of March 2019.
In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many conditions and you may be seen more quickly.
A chaperone can be provided if required. Please ask about this at reception when booking the appointment.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. If you arrive more than 9 minutes late you will be asked to make another appointment.
Extended Access at other Locations
Early evening and weekend access is available at other locations. these slots are pre-bookable by our own staff. At the moment our nearest surgery is Dickinson Road in Longsight. In the near future our nearest surgery will be West Point, although we are limited to the number of allocated appointment slots.
